Payment services provider, Dwolla, today announced its recently expanded team with the addition of three top-notch leaders. Lawrence Herman, as CFO, Alka Gupta and Millicent Tracey as new board members, bring a wealth of industry experience to the table. Dwolla aims to leverage their expertise and knowledge to enhance operational scalability, deploy advanced solutions, provide strategic guidance and better serve custom requirements in the payment industry.

Lawrence Herman joins Dwolla as Chief Financial Officer with extensive experience leading global finance teams across various technology sectors, such as payments, cryptocurrency, blockchain, fintech, and AI SaaS. He was previously the CFO of Accrete, an AI machine learning company. Before that, he served as the Senior Vice President and Head of Finance at Paxful, a global cryptocurrency marketplace and P2P remittance platform, where he drove 60% annual revenue growth in his first year. He also has over 10 years of combined experience in finance leadership and strategic planning roles at MasterCard and American Express.
"As a long-time believer in the A2A payments space, I am thrilled to join Dwolla during this exciting time,” Herman said. “I believe in Dwolla’s disruptive force in the payments industry and am eager to continue elevating the unique position of its elegant, flexible, and market-leading solution. Dwolla revolutionizes A2A payments with fidelity, speed, and cost-effective solutions for companies of all sizes and I look forward to collaborating with Dwolla's leadership team to drive growth in the most profitable way."
Alka Gupta is a tech trailblazer, with a diverse portfolio encompassing entrepreneurship, venture investment and Fortune 500 executive roles. As a new member of Dwolla's Board of Directors, she brings an extensive background in fintech, payments, marketplaces and identity, and has been a driving force behind key disruptions in search, ecommerce, mobile and blockchain at both public and early-stage companies. Gupta's revenue-building expertise and success strategies span B2B and B2C markets across more than ten countries in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Millicent Tracey has been an accomplished financial services executive for over two decades, with proven expertise in digital payments transformation. She is renowned for her significant contributions to Wells Fargo's commercial banking portal and banking as a service platform, where she led the launch of several B2B payments APIs, including same-day ACH, RTP, and account validation that revolutionized the way businesses conducted their financial transactions. Owing to her legal and tax-oriented background, she is also adept at advising on governance, compliance, and risk management. Tracey is highly experienced in leading strategic growth initiatives, and is great at designing and delivering innovative technology solutions while keeping a keen eye on cyber and financial fraud risks, and devising mitigation strategies for digital payments products.
This announcement follows Dwolla’s recent reporting of 45% growth quarter over quarter in its Partner Ecosystem with the notable addition of Flinks among many new partners to its Secure Exchange Solution.
